PERMIT MODIFICATION REQUEST

In June 2020, the WWSP submitted a permit modification request to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Oregon Department of State Lands. The request seeks to modify permits issued by the agencies in 2018 which cover all of the planned WWSP improvements, including intake modifications in the Willamette River, water treatment plant and reservoir construction, and 30+ miles of new pipeline.

The modification request identifies changes in design from what was permitted in 2018 in three geographic areas: Grabhorn Road to Rosedale Road in unincorporated Washington County, Metzger Pipeline East in Beaverton and unincorporated Washington County, and along Cornelius Pass Road north of Francis Street in Hillsboro.

The coordinated federal and state process will take about one year to complete, and covers reviews for wetland impacts, endangered species, cultural resources, and other natural resource impacts.

The modification review process includes public notice comment periods for each agency. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers public notice comment period ended October 30, 2020. The Oregon Department of State Lands has not yet issued a public notice comment period.

COMMUNITY BRIEFINGS

All homes and businesses along the preferred route will receive information about the route and be invited to sign up for email updates to stay informed of community briefings and other project milestones. Community briefings will also be posted on this page as they are scheduled.
